WOODWORKING FOR ADULTS - 8 times

Do you want to work with wood and learn to use traditional hand tools? Then our weekly grub team might be for you. WHAT DO YOU LEARN: You will learn how to make classic joints in wood You will use hand tools such as planers, voice irons and hand saws. You will learn how to sharpen the above tool so that it works optimally. WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF IT? The joy of creating tangible things, built in wood, made with your own hands. Stressful immersion in a craft where brain, body and hands work closely together. You will gain skills that you can use in the future, at your own home, for all kinds of wood projects. WHAT PROJECTS CAN YOU DO? We are open to you being able to create projects according to your own ideas, as long as it involves smaller wooden projects, which are based hand tools. This could be, for example: Swallowtail assembled trays or boxes Hand-cut spoons and kitchen utensils Stools with pierced legs Smaller tables, or other small furniture for the home. PATTERN CUTTING COURSE + SLICING KNIFE

Would you like to explore the traditional and creative art of pattern cutting carvsection? - So join us on a journey to the more artistic part of the cutting world when we hold a brand new course format in decorative pattern cutting. The course provides an introduction to the traditional craft of carving patterns, words or images into wood. The ancient art - also called karvsnit or scureut - can be used to decorate just about anything in wood - from grandma's old jewelry box to your favorite spoon or stool. You can also venture into the art of printing images with pattern relief, just as we know it from linoleum printing. It is only the imagination that sets the limits. During the course you will be introduced to various drawing pricips, tools and special relief sectioning techniques. We start from scratch so that everyone can join - beginner as practiced. During the course, we will review, for example, which techniques are used to achieve a relief effect and pattern-forming play between light and shadow, which knife is best for which patterns and which types of wood work best for this type of cutting art. Cutting material (wood) is provided at the start of the course and a special cutting knife is included in the price, but if you have something (in wood) that you would like to decorate, feel free to bring it. WORKSHOP – how to carve a wooden stool

The workshop — Made by Anders now offers the cutting course CUT EN STOOL, where you cut your own stool in cherry wood step by step over two courses, lasting 5.5 hours. During the course you will gain a basic approach to the cutting tools and techniques used to produce the stool. You will learn, among other things, to understand and work with the veining directions of wood and the technique of wedge assembly and relief sections of surfaces. The course is based on the fact that you can subsequently make the same or similar projects at home without necessarily having access to a large workshop. All tools and materials are provided and we aim for you to bring your own finished stool to your home. See available dates and purchase gift cards below. COURSE - Carv a wooden spoon

“Værkstaden — Made by Anders” offers cutting courses with basic cutting techniques for beginners and easy practitioners. The course provides an introduction to cutting techniques, tools, wood species, safety, shape and design, finishing, as well as advice and experience. The process goes from raw material to kitchen utensil (spoon or similar). You start by handing over a whole piece of tree trunk, where we practice the splitting technique with an ax - and to make the tree split the way we want it. Then we proceed to the drawing up and rough chopping of the spoon (or similar. kitchen utensil) with an ax, after which the cutting process itself starts. Various techniques will be shown -- both cutting on clamped materials and on hand-held ones. Among other things, you will work with an axe, a chopping knife, a cutting knife, a bay knife, a ribbon knife and a spoon knife. All tools and materials are provided and we aim to ensure that all students receive at least one finished product. About KnAsT

KnaST is a small design and interior shop in the heart of Nørrebro. We have been around since 2015, when Anders and Carla first opened the doors to their wonderful universe of handmade furniture and ceramic art. Today we are a collection of designers and craftsmen who all share the desire to create unique products. Common to all of us is our interest in materials, creativity and craftsmanship translated into a modern Nordic design. In KNaST everything is locally produced and the products are therefore most often produced in smaller quantities. Who are we? The Workshop Made by Anders Anders is a furniture designer and cabinetmaker. His series of dining and coffee tables are characterized by materials adapted to the expressions and needs of the time. Anders has loved crafts for as long as he can remember, and today he helps people find, or rediscover, the joy of working with wood through the cosy cutting courses held regularly at Nørrebro. Carla Caos The artist behind the quirky universe Carlas Caos is Carla Jørsum. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Design School, Bornholm in 2010. Carlas Caos offers an adventurous universe with both utility items and decorative hand-modeled ceramic objects. In addition to her charateristic trees and blades of grass in all kinds of colors, Carla also makes a beautiful stoneware frame in delicate shades as well as hanging flower pots with wings. The ceramics from Carlas Caos are all produced in the small workshop in the back room of the store. Helena Frank Studio Helena Frank is a Swedish illustrator and print designer, based in Copenhagen. She has studied at Konstfack in Sweden, and Filmskolen in Denmark. In 2015 she started the 'Helena Frank Studio' where she creates handmade art using traditional pencil and watercolour technique. The penchant for human behavior and detail is key to her work. She has always been interested in discreet observation of our world. Retrograde lamps Retrograde Lamps is composed by Greg Stone, originally from Canada. From his workshop in Nørrebro, he builds his lamps, which are handmade from top to bottom. The screens too! He uses wood residues from other local wood production so that his products are as sustainable as possible.
